Giselle – ballet in two acts
The original story is about the love of a pure peasant girl, who is deceived, betrayed and deserted by a rich nobleman. The girl cannot cope with what has happened, goes mad and commits suicide. In this way she enters the ghostly world of the Wilis, who are none other than the embodied spirits of vengeful jilted brides. Can Giselle’s innocence survive in such a cruel world, will she be able to resist the spirit of revenge?
Giselle on the Pécs dance stage speaks to the man of the 21st century and talks about him. We are going to hear Adam’s music in the transcription by Richárd Riederauer and the motion world of the performance is also lively …
